I had ordered a set of sights for a pistol I was working on. The sights came with an Aluminum punch (Free) included in the package with the sights (one for the front and one for the rear). I used the front sight punch to try to remove the old sights like a dummy of course that didn't work. Messed up the alum. punch pretty bad. Didn't get the sight to move. I call Dawson Precision the next day and got a very pleasant man on the phone. We laughed at my stupidity and he took my order for a new punch. 2 days later I am back in business and installing the new sights. Great Customer Service and very friendly People...
The Dawson rear sight nylon tipped punch is a good sight installation tool. It is well made and inexpensive-- get two when you order. I tried to use this to adjust the rear sight on my Ruger 1911. Unfortunately, I did not get it to budge, however the tool worked as advertised and held up to repeated hammer blows without leaving any marks on the sight. When I first tried to remove my stock dovetail sights with a steel punch I broke the front sight. After finding Dawson Precision YouTube on proper installation I order the proper tools. Along with the video the installation looks professional. Thank you Dawson Precision!
