Dave Dawson has designed a tooling package to tune STI Magazines. Dave has long been recognized as The Expert on STI mags. Now you can tune and maintain your own magazines the same way Dave does. Kit includes Feed Lip Forming Tool, Feed Lip Spreading Pliers, Diamond Feed Lip De-Burring File, and Spring Compression Tool along with an instructional DVD that demonstrates the proper process to tuning magazines. Dave's own Top-Secret measurements to super-tune your high-capacity 9mm, .38, .40, and .45 magazines will be revealed for the first time on the DVD. Bench vise, brass hammer and dial calipers are required but not included.

Takes the mystery out if setting up your STI mags. I bought 2 new ones and both were out of spec. This kit and the video make it fairly simple to set them up and helps you learn why and what you are trying to accomplish. Plus, now I have the tools forever.
Works well. Mags now fall freely from gun as nearly all dimensions were not within what was recommended. My only complaint are the pliers for the mag lips. Being a ldy ahooter I have rather small hands the oers spread so far apart it was difficult to get a good grip on them to apply enough pressure to spread the mag geed lips apart to reach the correct dimensions.
Dave does great tutorial that makes tuning mags very understandable, and the tools provided are high quality, and performs tuning jobs easily, and precisely.
The anvil and pliers are VERY handy.
There is one dimension missing and I feel it is very important.
The thickness of the tube at the feed lip area I found to be crucial. It certainly keeps the follower in the proper orientation.
Wow! After watching the dvd I decided to give it a try. I did 5 mags total. The first one took about 20 minutes but after that I did the other 4 in 1 hr. This makes it so nice to know after mag changes several times and dropping them on hard surfaces that I can tune them back to like new in minutes. Thanks for the help! Gary Williams
I just recently purchased an STI Edge from Dawson. Obviously, one magazine is not enough. I decided to purchase the components and do the tuning myself. I already had everything that was needed that wasn't part of the kit. The DVD instructions explained the process well. The tools included in the kit were exactly what was needed.
I took the three newly tuned magazines out for a cruise around the course the next day and they performed flawlessly. Frankly, I wouldn't pay someone to do it when it is so easy to do yourself. Simply follow the instructions and measure carefully. I also installed Dawson base pads and followers at the same time.
