  1. One piece guide rod for Springfield prodigy

These guys take precision seriously, purchased a one piece tooless guide rod for my Springfield prodigy and installation was a bit tricky once i figured it out it dropped right in no problem and feels more like a part for the space station vs a pistol the bushing is perfect with no tooling marks and the rod itself is machined and formed perfectly, my first time buying from Dawson but I will be coming here first for all my future firearm parts needs

  2. One piece guide rod

I struggled with the two-piece guide rod in my Springfield Prodigy. I knew sooner or later the threads would be stripped or cross threaded. This one-piece upgrade makes take down much easier. Springfield should recall all two-piece guide rods and replace with this item!

  3. Fits Prodigy

Ordered this for my new Springfield Prodigy. Perfect fit and the OEM spring works with it. I also ordered a 10lb and 11lb spring to have as spares. The 10lb feels just like the OEM when racking the slide. The 11lb amfelt slightly heavier than OEM. Very easy to swap out with the guiderod. This is a must have

Best upgrade for springfield prodigy. Installs very easily and makes disassembly a breeze. No more two piece guide rod coming loose. Genius product!

Just installed this in my 5" 1911 DS Prodigy. 100% drop-in part with no fitting required. Also allows use of Wilson Combat shock-buff.

  6. Must have for your 1911

It has been mentioned by other reviewers, but it bears repeating again. This is just a must have for your 1911. Lock the slide back, depress the guide rod, release slide and your in business. No tools to keep track of or lose is icing on the cake. Dawson Precision shipped super quick... very pleased all around.

  7. Outstanding product

This is an absolute “must-have” upgrade. The factory guiderod for the TRP Operator requires the use of a paper clip or something similar for disassembly, the only significant shortcoming with an otherwise excellent 1911. This product completely alleviates that issue. My only lament is that this product is not available for a much wider selection of 1911s. Something like this is sorely needed for the Springfield EMP 3” model, which has a factory guiderod that makes disassembly an absolute nightmare. Buy this — I guarantee you won’t regret it.

  8. **UPDATE** Absolute Must-Have!

Shortly after I posted the review below, I received a (humbling) phone call from Dawson Precision. Turns out I was over-thinking/under-thinking the process.
With a full-length rail/dust cover, remove the slide first and then you can simply push the guide rod up and lock it to remove it. Took all of 5 seconds the first time around.

I only wish I could edit my review below. I should have called them for advice before being so quick to leave an unfavorable review.

  9. Not what I expected

Everyone ranted and raved about this product being tool-less and a must have for the TRP. I honestly think it's easier to use the factory guiderod with a paperclip.

The problem is the lever that you have to depress is still hidden underneath the fullrail. So now I have to find something that is both strong enough to push it in, yet soft enough to not nick my rail.

Extremely disappointed, considering how much I paid for this product. Would be better if the lever was flipped so it faced the barrel. At least then I could shove something in there without worrying about marring the underside of my barrel.
