  • To be able to use the tool-less guide rod for bushing barrels, you must be able to remove the recoil spring plug from the rear of the slide. 
  • For use with Wolff recoil springs, will not work with ISMI springs.

  • Dawson Tool-Less Guiderod fits factory STI 1911/2011, SV, Kimber, Colt with bushing barrels, compensated and non-compensated pistols. Compare your reverse plug to picture above.
  • **Recoil Spring is not included.
  • ***Fits some Springield 1911 pistols.  If you are unable to push your spring plug out the rear of the spring tunnel on the slide, the Tool-less Guide Rod will not work with your pistol.

    I had to modify my 1911 slide and remove the spring plug ridge to allow the removal of the tool-less guide rod from the back of my slide assembly. I used this tool to complete the task...
    " SK-5 90°Cone 1/2" and it took less than 5 minutes to complete the task. This upgrade makes breaking down my 1911 for cleaning a breeze and I'm extremely happy with the fit and function of this product. Definitely one of my top 5 upgrades.

    Used it to replace the STI recoil master in my Sentry. Now I don't need a plastic tool to clean my 1911. Good thinking Dawson.

    As I read This product was the perfect solution to a Nagging issue for the TRP. The Only negative issue for this fire arm. With the addition of the Dawson Precision Tooless giuderod It is the Perfect 1911 I wanted. I read someone say Springfield Should incorperate this Guiderod Rite from the Factory.. I Fully AGREE!! Thank you.!!
