Hard to find sights for the Hi Power, these sights are excellent!
Fibor optic sights are great for aging eyes.
Installed them myself, and the punches included made it a breeze.
For some reason my gun hits about two inches low with this sight set, but Dawson is making a custom hight front sight for me at no extra charge. That's their perfect impact promise!

I had previously installed 4 of Dawson's fiber optic front sights on other pistols but this was my first set of fiber front and rear sights. The rear needed no fitting at all and the front needed only minimal adjustment. (Dawson's front sight file makes fitting much easier and is a good value) The fiber optics really stand out and are much appreciated as my eyes get older. The vertical point of impact was dead on and I only needed a slight adjustment for windage after installation. As the other reviewer mentioned the bases were a bit narrower than the factory sights but this is to be expected. A couple swipes with Oxpho-Blue took care of that and now you would never know. I'm hoping to transition more pistols to Dawson fiber optic sights soon.

  3. A little wider base please

I shot a fiber optic sight for the first time a few weeks ago and I liked the concept. On the other hand I never liked the white bar sights on my Hi Power Mk III. So... I found the Dawson Precision sights and gave them a try.

Thank you for the included punches. My gunsmith friend did not have the adapter to fit a Hi Power slide for his big sight installing rig so we resorted to the Dawson tools. The original sights had taken up residence 20 + years ago and did not want to leave. The aluminum punches removed them without damage to the slide. Installation of the new sights was very easy by comparison.

I detracted 1 star because the base of the Dawson sights does not completely fill the dovetail grooves on the Hi Power slide. This is especially a concern on the Mk III which has an epoxy enamel finish. The original sights filled the groove and thus there was no finish at the bottom of the grooves. That area is exposed to view with the Dawson sights. A little cold blue did a reasonable mitigation job.

At the range the first time... it was rather overcast. The Dawson fibers were BRIGHT! The sights shoot very close to point of aim. At the second session - approaching 200 rounds total I noticed that the front fiber was backing out a little. When I returned to my shop I pressed the fiber piece forward into the recess and applied a little heat to the front end. It is again snug and ready to go.

All in all I am very pleased with the Dawson fiber optic sights.
