HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR FRONT SIGHT HEIGHT

This easy 6 step program will help you determine the height you need for your Dawson Precision
Perfect Impact® sight. Follow the instructions below to accurately measure all the dimensions needed to calculate your sight height change.

1 Make Sure Your Gun Is Unloaded!

As always, safety is first and foremost when handling your firearm.

MAKE SURE TO UNLOAD YOUR GUN.
2 Measure Front Sight Height

Using dial or digital calipers set to inches, measure your current front sight from the top of the slide to the top of the front sight.

3 MEASURE YOUR SIGHT RADIUS

The sight radius is the distance between the BACK of the Rear Sight to the BACK of the Front Sight.

4 MEASURE YOUR IMPACT DISTANCE

The impact radius is the distance between your bullet's impact and your point of aim.

What is your point of impact and impact distance?
You will need a SHORTER sight. You will need a TALLER sight.

5 MEASURE YOUR TARGET DISTANCE

The target distance is the distance between your gun and the target. 20 yards (720") is an ideal distance.

Choose the Dawson Precision Perfect Impact® sight height closest to this impact corrected front sight height.

As long as it is within .005", this should be more than adequate for precision pistol shooting. Custom sights are available at an additional charge.
