Description
Is there really a difference with Dawson Precision® sights? You bet there is!
While other sights give off a hazy glow making it difficult to focus, Dawson Precision® sights offer you the sharpest picture. We counterbore the blade so the optic is recessed. This subtle difference focuses the light in the sight making it not only brighter, but clearer. A fully cradled optic provides a longer optic lifespan.

Great front sight easy to see for comp shooting. Was also very easy to install .
The shipping was fast. I received it in three days after placeing the order at night. So basically two days from processing to receiving. The installation was relatively easy on my Kimber Custom II. I ran the bottom surface of the sight on 150 grit sand paper, checked fit, a little more sanding till it freely went in past 2/3 of the way, removed, put little loc-tite, reinstalled and punched (included) the rest of the way in till centered. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.
Fist perfectly on my Kimber stainless target II. I wish I can insert/upload pictures.
Sight fits perfectly, easy to install with instructions and aluminum punch. At most a fifteen minute job.
This sight went on my Kimber along with the black rear sight. The rear sight takes about 5 minutes to do. The front took me 45 minutes to get it right. You have to file it down to fit it. Get yourself a small triangle file and red Loctite before starting. You'll also need a gun bluing pen. Take your time to file down the height and width of the base. The sight will need to go in about halfway by hand before you should even start using the aluminum punch. You can cover the end of the punch with tape, but the aluminum punch will still mar the sight on the edge. That's when you need your bluing pen. Helped my sight acquisition as my eyes have changed since I have aged. The front sight is bright and crisp, and really stands out against the black rear sight. Great job.
Great front sight for KImber 1911. I installed it on my Kimber team match II 45 acp. You have to have the correct tools to install it. You definitely need to file it as it is thicker than the factory sight one. I would definitely recommend this product.
Not for beginner gunsmiths but if you have some precision tools & can follow the instructions on the video exactly, you can succeed . Heat the old sight before removal (something the video doesn't mention) & take your time fitting the new sight (and use the proper Loctite). Still it's a little scary beating on your $1000 Kimber with a punch & hammer. Mine came out great, good luck. If your vision is starting to suck because of age, you know how important fiber optic sights are.
Been using Dawson sights for the past eight years or so. They work, they're affordable and they don't rape you with shipping charges.
Purchased to replace the factory tritium front on my Kimber Custom Eclipse Target for use in USPSA. The thin sight profile provides plenty of room in the rear sight notch for great accuracy and ability to move point of aim, the super bright f/o makes tracking the sights up and down on tecoil a breeze. Small clear dot makes for great accuracy, even when shifting to a target focus. The small, sharp dot is one of the big advantages to this sight. If you cant see thiswell, its time to move to Carry Optics division ; Simple install, although the aluminum punch included left some aluminum streaks on the side of the sight. I would suggest investing in a sight pusher/install tool. Best performance investment for the money, hands down.
If the Dawson Precision® recommended sights do not zero your pistol, we will give you one new front sight that has the required height to correct the point of impact to your specification, free of charge. (Dawson Precision's Perfect Impact® Promise)
