The sight is nice and bright. Just what I needed
Description
Is there really a difference with Dawson Precision® sights? You bet there is!
While other sights give off a hazy glow making it difficult to focus, Dawson Precision® sights offer you the sharpest picture. We counterbore the blade so the optic is recessed. This subtle difference focuses the light in the sight making it not only brighter, but clearer. A fully cradled optic provides a longer optic lifespan.

The sight is nice and bright. Just what I needed
Took me about an hour to install in my Dan Wesson Valor. It was oversized as advertised, and the Valor cut measured out on the smaller side, so it took some time while going a little at a time to get it a nice, proper fit. But, once I got it filed down, it fit perfect. I did use a little green loctite as recommend by Dave on his video for insurance, but I honestly dont see this sight ever coming loose on it's own. I've installed around two dozen sets of sights over the past 15 years on my various pistols, and I've tried various styles and manufacturers. But for the last several years, I just keep it easy, and grab a set of Dawson sights in the dimensions I want. Top notch, fast shipping.
I did some research and John at Armscor advised that I needed Novak sights for my new RIA Rock Standard 1911, so I ordered the Novak 1911 front sight (.330" width) fiber optic. Turns out, that sight was too big, and I had to return it and get the RIA proprietary sized (.315" width) dovetail front sight. Dawson was great and had my new RIA 1911 front sight sent to me as soon as I returned the Novak sight. The new sight took some fitting but using Dave Dawson's video (found in their video archive), I had the new sight mounted perfectly within about 45 minutes. It is a great improvement over the original black factory sight.
Excellent this one fits and did what I needed good job Dave.
dawson precision sells very good sights that are a cut above most other sights . I own five sets !
Easy to install easier to see
The sight(s) I ordered came quickly, fit good and look great. I needed to exchange one sight ( my error ) and it was quick and painless. I can really recommend the product and service.
Put these on my Ed Brown SF Chainlink II and it was point of aim point of impact. (.180” front, .350” rear) You have to know what dove tail your slide is cut to and the height of your sights if you are happy with where it’s hitting. If you aren’t happy with where you are hitting you can use their formula to adjust for 6 o’clock hold or poa poi. I have taken the time to put Dawson’s on all of my pistols, now they all have exactly the same sight picture and poa poi. Truely a great product!
Replaced target white dot front sight on a Sig 1911 with the fiber optic front. Novak cut installed easily into slide. Advice from Rep enabled right sight dimension. Very happy with result!
If the Dawson Precision® recommended sights do not zero your pistol, we will give you one new front sight that has the required height to correct the point of impact to your specification, free of charge. (Dawson Precision's Perfect Impact® Promise)
