I have a S&W M&P 2.0 Fullsize in 9mm. I would highly recommend these sights! Super accurate, no drifting, and easy to use. Buy them.
Here's the long version:
I started with the stock S&W sights, then went to XS Big Dots, then XS F8's, and finally these bad boys right here. I had my F8's installed by XS at their offices here in Fort Worth. I quickly started having reliability issues with them. After about 200 rounds my front sight worked its way over to the far left side of the slide. I was disappointed. I took them to a local shop close to the range and had it re-centered. Next weekend I went back to the range, and 400 rounds later it fell all the way off the slide. I ordered a set of Dawson Chargers and they got here in a few days. I took them to a local Dawson dealer, Triarc Systems, and had them install them. He said they fit super tight and did not have to shave any material off.
It took me a couple of weeks to get to the range, but when I finally did I was blown away. The small front fiber optic made it easy to get good hits on an 8" steel at 25 yards. I started with Chuck Pressburg's "No Fail Drill". From concealment, you have 3.5 seconds to draw and get a hit on a B8 at 25 yards. You do it one round at a time for 10 rounds without anything beforehand to get you "warmed up". I was able to get 8/10 shots on the steel and I definitely caused those misses. Later with rapid fire, the front sight was very easy to track.
Black rear, fiber optic front is a game changer for me.
This is my third set of Dawson’s. Haven’t found a sight I prefer more for precision accuracy than these. I have Trijicon HD’s on other handguns and I feel they have their place but I still prefer the Dawson’s. One wish I have and it may already be in the works is that I hope one day technology will catch up in that we want a super precision fiber optic front sight with glow in the dark tritium. I know another manufacture attempts this already but it isn’t close enough the the Dawson’s precision front sight.
Thanks!
Quality sights. It did take some fitting, but as Dave said...just take your time! The bitch of the install was actually removing the original front sight. After reading up on some remedies on how to remove the factory front sight, I was able to install the fiber optic FS and then take it to the range for testing. I hit the "10 ring" so I'm happy with it.
I have installed three of these sets now. One on a Glock and 2 on M&P pistols. Love them. Bright and extremely sharp contrast for precise and accurate shots. The rear sight allows for one handed cycling of the slide and are very well built.....
I have this set on 3 different pistols. I like be the fact the blend so well with the contours of my M&P slides. The rear sights design is great for one handed slide racking, and the front fiber optic sight is a great combination of high visibility while keeping the optic rod protected.
I've had OEM sights, night sights, and fiber optics and they have always been on both the front and rear sights. This is the first time I tried a dark rear sight and it made it much easier to focus on the front sight. Definitely setting up my other pistols like this. As always, the Dawson sights are rock solid, look good, and are heads and shoulders above anything the manufacturer gives me as stock.
