Had plain black sights on an older Sig P6. Hard to see with my 72 year old eyes. Replaced them with this one in front and the pla8n black “Charger” sight in back. A bit of work to fit the sight, butthat was expected. Haven’t shot it yet, but it sure seems like it will be a lot easier to pick up. I’m expecting a big improvement.
Excellent support by Jay at Dawson tech support. He guided me through measurements that made sure I was ordering the correct front sight for my P226 (already equipped with Sig night sights). Order was shipped promptly and arrived within days via USPS. Sight came with handy mounting tool which proved to be very effective. Required some light sanding to bring down the thickness of the shoe but that should be expected when properly installing a precision sight. Recommend viewing the excellent YouTube tutorial by Dave Dawson himself before you start the project. I've done many sight replacements but you always learn something everyday - he had some good tips!! Brought pistol out today and it was spot on. Very easy to aquire front target - almost like a magnet to steel. Very happy with sight and doing business with Dawson!!
This sight was my fifth purchase from Dawson. It is as described and went in with very little fitting by me. It is much easier to see than the original, which makes it easier to shoot the gun well. I will always use Dawson sights as my need for something other than factory, becomes an issue.
DP produces the finest and best fiber optic sights!. Great quality, fit and finish. Follow the instructional video and installation is easy. I will not use any other brand of sight for my handguns. David
Installed this sight to replace the night sight on my Sig P226 Stainless Elite. What a difference! This sight is of quality and is a tremendous help for my ageing eyes. I will be changing out the sights on other pistols I own to the Dawson Fiber Optic. Installation is flawless if the directions on the the installation video are followed.
Dawson Precision comes through with a great front sight for your SIG. Extremely high quality, perfect sized fiber optic, tons of extras included and a stellar customer service. Be sure to use the included aluminum punch to install and not a sight punch.
One of the best upgrades you can do for your shooting. I installed a .090 front sight on my Sig P226. It is very bright, easy to pick up quickly and you are able to fine tune your precision shots for tighter groups. DO make sure that this sight goes into the dovetail about 1/3rd the way before taking to the hammer. Just some light passes with a needle nose file is all it will take. If you try to tap this type of sight in and it is tight from the start you run the risk of damaging the sight as it will most likely stop moving before it is centered. Great product, great company, just go for it.

I did not enjoy the large diameter fiber optic that comes stock on the X-5, so this sight is a vast improvement over stock as I much prefer a narrow fiber optic sight.
