This box is made to NROI approved size at max tolerance (2022). The gauge is made without a top so any areas that stick out of the gauge even the smallest amount can be easily identified.
Place gauge on a smooth flat surface. Wood, thin cloth or plastic surfaces will help protect handgun finishes. (placing a US 1 Cent coin underneath each corner will add approximately 1/16" of height to the box if desired)
Place handgun in the box
Slide a ruler or other straight edge across the top of the box. If it does not catch on any part of the handgun, it passes the size test.
