Description

Is there really a difference with Dawson Precision® sights? You bet there is!

While other sights give off a hazy glow making it difficult to focus, Dawson Precision® sights offer you the sharpest picture. We counterbore the blade so the optic is recessed. This subtle difference focuses the light in the sight making it not only brighter, but clearer. A fully cradled optic provides a longer optic lifespan.

  1. E series front sight

I have used alot of dawson front sights over the years, I have never been let down by them. This most recent purchase was for a replacement front sight for my E series 1911. I had bought the last set that warren sights had, after it was lost by USPS for 2 weeks it showed up. In the process if installing the front sight I broke it, so I came here and found a replacement. .160 height front matched up to the warren rear perfect

I bought this for my S&W 1911 model # 108284. As always it works great. I got the .190 tall sight. With the adjustable rear sight I could have gone with a shorter front sight, there is still plenty of adjustability. It did require a bit of fitting, but nothing the 'home gunsmith' would find too difficult. Overall, a quality product, as usual!

  3. Not the best

I bought the front sight for my 1911 Sc S&W 45 Commander. I also ordered the exact same sight from Hi Viz at the same time. i have them both and the Hi Viz has a much larger diameter fiber pipe in it, and appears much brighter. I'll be having the Hi Viz installed

  4. Great System

I went with these to get a more target style sight system on my Scandium frame S&W 1911PD commander . .295" rear height and a .125" notch. The front sight is .160" tall and .100" wide. I can see thise window perfect and I'm scoring 29/30 from 25 yards consistently. Great sight system. Leaves just a bit of the foreign pin cover washer exposed due to the sight width at the base. This doesn't effect functionality, and sights are hard to find, so I'm ecstatic. I recommend investing in a set of calipers so you know what you have currently and help you adjust to perfect.

This was a first time of changing sights so it was a chalange to say the least. It came off and went on pretty hard. Wasn't sure that I shouldn't have filed it some more. I haven't shot it yet but so far I really like it. Put it on a Smith pro series 1911. I want to use for IDPA.

  6. Dependability

Dawson as well as the fiber optic sight is always dependable. I use them on Glocks & 1911s' and it's quicker. This really helps a senior kind of guy see the sight!

  8. Fiber Optic Front Sight for S&W 1911 ES

I just finished installing this sight on my pistol. Your instructional video is first rate. My installation went very well, but it took more filing than the one in the video. That's OK, because with another gun, more metal might be needed on the sight base. With patience, I got a very good fit. I chose a .100" wide sight to replace a .120" factory sight to get more "gap" in the sight picture. That worked out well, but it leaves the fiber optic is not as eye catching as I anticipated. I think I will get used to that sight picture, though.
