Very pleased with my new Dawson sight. They line up extremely fast. Have great Target acquisition. And shoot a very tight group. Love the rear adjustable sight.
received the sight Thursday, installed on Thursday evening. Taken to the range on Sunday morning ,run a test round of 2x5 and adjusted..... smack dab in the center of the bulls eye... awesome buy, sorry to say the sight on the springfield are ok, but your product out shot them by a mile. ..Thanks
Was very easy to install once I got the old sight off, not so easy.lol..but in just a few shots was dead on. highly recomend
I bought the DP sights to replace the stock sights on my XD9 Mod 2. I wanted something adjustable and the Dawson Precision sights came highly recommended. The sights arrived quickly and they had fine instructions included. After removing the notoriously sticky XD sights, the Dawsons went in perfectly, not a problem at all. A quick laser alignment and it was off to the range. One more click of adjustment and things were looking great! The smaller front sight post and fiber optic insert feels much more precise when sighting. And the ability to adjust vertical is worth the price of admission alone.
So why the 4 stars? Well, the front sight is squared off. And not just kind of squared...like sharp as a tack square! So sharp that the corners catch on any fabric it comes into contact with. If you are doing anything that may cause your draw, etc. to come near fabric or even leather, be mindful that this can happen..
The rear sight doesn't suffer from the same problem and I am sure a little touch with a fine file and a touch of gun black to cover the marks will fix this, but I would have expected this right from Dawson.
I'd still recommend these sights over the others I have seen, and will likely purchase another set for an XDs. Hopefully Dawson will make a few tweaks to the front sight and this will be a 5-star piece of gear right out of the gate.
I just received the sight set from Dawson Precision and they seem to be made of quality materials. I have not had time to put them on my pistol. The only negative thing I see is the size of the fiber optic rods. They are tiny and not very impressive for my aging eyes. They are very small compared to others I have seen. I would have bought some of the others but they were not adjustable. I will write another update when I get them installed. Tony Hardin
