just put this on my Springfield 1911 range officer and man does this make reloads super fast and gun. I can't wait to dabble in USPSA single stack division this year as I won't feel like my reloads are slower because of the narrow mag entrance. thanks Dave!
I installed the gap magwell on a Rock Island FS for USPSA competition. Such a dramatic change on how the pistol felt in my hand. The fit of the mainspring housing was fantastic. Obviously faster mag changes. Great product and a good price.
It definitely made my gun fit the IDPA Box and be under the max weight of 43 oz
I bought the standard arched magwell not knowing if this would clear my wilson combat 8 and 10 round magazines. this works perfectly with the wilson combat magazines. I really like dawson precision products.

ordered dp ice magwell and mainspring housing for my ruger sr1911. ordered on Thursday, received next Tuesday. followed easy install instructions. perfect fit. should have ordered insert, would have been better. shot on Wednesday. 50 rounds ball ammo through cmc 10 round rpm mags . works great. will order insert soon. would recommend to anyone with 1911 needing a positive ,no look reload.
These magwells are the best out there in my opinion. Easy to install and they work great. Big fan of the replaceable inserts.

Purchased to install on my Kimber 1911 Custom Carry II. Excellent part, super simple install following the included instructions, all you need is a set of punches for the pins in the main spring housing. Love the look and feel, provides a great little palm swell (I have decent size hands and without my fingergrooves I choke the GOVT frame) wicked fast reloading, I love how the insert is removable and the mag funnels right in. Super glad this includes a mainspring housing, I didn't realize my original in the Kimber was plastic until I held both in my hands at the same time! Excellent fit, no smithing required to install. Spine is checkered and provides great tact under the heel of my hand. Going to get these for all my future 1911s!
