Description

These extended basepads are designed to fit the USPSA® boxes* with maximum length for positive seating in competition or tactical environments! With the 1911 single stack making a strong comeback it made sense for Dave Dawson to make a basepad that increased the consistency of a fast, smooth, positive seating reload!

*After installation, check to ensure that your gun still fits the appropriate box as guns vary dimensionally.

  • Machined from aircraft grade aluminum to Dawson Precision® tolerances for POSITIVE SEATING and RELIABILITY without sacrificing durability.
  • New flair design and deep finger grooves on the bottom help assist installation and removal.
  • Extends magazine for improved seating.

Basepad & Magwell Compatibility:

  • Standard Basepads: FOR USE WITH or WITHOUT Dawson Precision® Standard 1911 ICE® magwells; can also BE USED WITH Smith & Alexander 1911 style magwells.

    Installed basepads on Springfield magazines

    Installed these basepads on the magazines that shipped with my 9mm Springfield 1911 Range Officer. The basepads fit perfectly. I would give these 5 stars but the screws extend so far into the magazine that I can only load 8 rounds into the 9 round magazines.

    I installed these on KimPro Tac-Mags I use for USPSA competition. Excellent fit and easy to install. Works fantastic with Dawson's Ice gap magwell. Great price.

    bought these for my kimber stainless 1911. They come with screws. I didnt want to go get a tap so i slowly worked the screws in and it self threaded. Dawson products are just excellent.

    Perfect Fit

    The basepad is a perfect fit. They were easy to install. You do need a 4-40 tap to tread the holes. The basepad is designed to work with existing holes in your magazine. Picked up a 4-40 tap at sears for $4 and 30 minutes latter 7 magazines completed. Hoping this will increase my speed in mag changes in IDPA and USPSA I am sure it will.
