This is the second I’ve bought from Dawson. Easy install and nice fit. Like that you get a second insert. Just wish they made one for a Glock 41.

Great G35 Addition

Doesn't work well with TTI style magazine base pads as the pins contact the insert before the magazine is fully seated. Magazines can be force to seat, but won't drop free. Easy to fix if you put a notch for the basepad pin in the engineered polymer insert, mags seat without great force and mags drop free. Hopefully the notch doesn't affect overall longevity of the insert.
Overall, great magwell works great and like the replaceable insert. Using the magwell on a Glock G35 with Medium backstrap and Glock Mags with TTI basepads.

On 08/12/2018 at USPSA Match in Dothan AL, a young Air Force active duty person said, "I was watching to see where you will change magazine. I did not see it. Did you?" I told him I did and point out the location where I've executed mag change. He said, "Man, that was lighting fast. I didn't even noticed." This magwell is awesome. The plastic insert and large opening allowed my Glock magazine to slide in very easily. If the insert is damaged, you can purchase a new insert. I have Terran +5/6 Glock mag extension. The mag extension metal pin will damage the all aluminum magwell during a match. I've purchased three for my XDm Comp, G34 and G35. It is better than ZEV Pro Magwell, which is installed on my other G34. I hoped my review help. P.S. I don't use any back strap on four of my competition pistols. Also, I purchased STI Edge CRP from Dawson, which has their magwell installed. It is awesome as well.

Easy to install...once I realized I needed to remove the backstrap first (that step isn't in the instructions). Fits snug and flush, easily accommodating the add-on backstrap. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the front edge of the entry isn't as smooth as I would like -- the surface is smooth, but there's a very small ledge where the magwell insert and the outer magwell come together. No problem using factory Glock magazines with this magwell. The magwell is within IDPA competition rules (1 5/8" width).

Almost Perfect

I couldn't find another magwell that would work on the Glock 34 which had the large back strap installed. This one fits the gun perfectly with the large back strap. The only issue, and it's a very small issue, is when using the Taran Tactical (TTI) +6 magazine extensions. The pin which holds the TTI magazine base in place makes contact with the DP Ice magwell insert. The easy fix is to use a Dremel and cut that portion of the insert away - problem solved. If it wasn't for that, I would rate this 5 this 5 stars.

There aren't a ton of options for Glock magwells with the large back strap installed. The ice magwell works very well. Often with limited options you feel like you need to settle for something inferior, because it's all that's available, I feel like I'm getting a quality product. The plug has a decent amount of weight to it, if you're trying to add weight to the gun. I like the replaceable sleeve, it will add longevity to the magwell. The screw that mounts trough the backstrap has the added bonus of holing the backstrap in place, I've had issues with that in the past. It has a nice finish to it, though more satin and less matte than I would prefer. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a quality magwell.
