My front sight of Smith @ Wesson SW22 was damaged during outdoor exercises. I tried to find the original front sight for a replacement but did not find it. The Ruger 22-45 .490 x .125 front sight excellent fits the Smith @ Wesson SW22. The Dawson front sight made front steel that is more reliable than the original aluminum Smith @ Wesson SW22.
This is #3 for me. Got this for a 10" Ruger MKII and it works so much better then the factory. Give one a try....you wont be sorry.
Bought one of these because it gives my old eyes a better sight picture and is much better then the factory. I have tried other brands of FO sights on other firearms but the Dawson is far better and you get options not offered by the others. I'll be ordering another soon. Thanks for a great product!
Good fit, got the .090 wide blade. Love the sight picture. I've recently had a cornea transplant and cataract lens in my strong eye. I can get a better sight picture with the Dawson sight than with a red dot optic. Fits my mark 2 perfectly. 3rd pistol I've put Dawson sights on.
Picks up easily. Improved my 22/45
I just installed my new 22/45 Fiber Optic Sight from Dawson Precision. And as all of their products it was a perfect fit. I am very happy with this sight. Great sight picture over the stock one it replaced. Very easy to see in sunlight against the black rear sight. Perfect replacement for the stock sight. and the options for heights was a plus.
Comments: This sight dramatically improves my ability to align the sights and center the front sight on the target quickly. Quality is excellent, as I’ve come to expect from Dawson. The sight does not come with a mounting screw, you will need to re-use the one that holds the standard sight in place. For shooting speed steel competition, I like the .100” wide blade, but you may prefer a narrower .090” blade for faster shooting, or the wide .125” blade for bullseye shooting. Blade height selection is important. Adjusting my rear sight at 50 feet, for a Ruger 22-45 with a 5.5” barrel, I use the .420” tall sight, which works perfectly with the standard Ruger adjustable rear sight, shooting 40-grain solid-point bullets at 1,200FPS (Federal “Auto Match” .22LR ammunition). For the 22-45 with the shorter 4.5” barrel, I needed the taller .490” sight. Dawson Fiber Optic Front Sights cannot be beat for quality, fit, and selection options.
Easy to install and fair price. Bought this Dawson fiber optic front sight for my 22/45 and at 59 years old its nice to have a clear, sharp and easy to see sight picture again. Thankful for this sight Dawson!
Bought the Dawson Fiber Optic front sight for my Ruger 22/45. Easy to install and a fair price. I'm using my stock black sight in the rear and the Dawson FO in the front gives a clear, bright and sharp sight picture. At 59 years old, this is just what I needed. Thank you Dawson!
