Description

Is there really a difference with Dawson Precision® sights? You bet there is!

While other sights give off a hazy glow making it difficult to focus, Dawson Precision® sights offer you the sharpest picture. We counterbore the blade so the optic is recessed. This subtle difference focuses the light in the sight making it not only brighter, but clearer. A fully cradled optic provides a longer optic lifespan.

Sight Details:

  • DESIGNED FOR Smith & Wesson® Performance Center® SW1911 Pro Series® and Performance Center® Gen 2 pistols with a .250" dovetail cut.
  • Counter Bored Optic: Keeps sight picture CLEAR and BRIGHT.
  • Wide Base: Provides added mounting strength.
  • No Glare Serrated Front of Sight
  • Extra Optic Included – Both Red and Green
  • Easy to Install – Tools, Hardware, and Instructions Included

DISCLAIMER: If you have a .330" dovetail cut, you WILL NEED TO USE the Dawson Precision® Performance Center® SW1911 Gen 1 front sights.

    FO front sight

Posted by Dave Hoffman on Dec 23rd 2018

Quality worthy of a '5', of course, but I would like to see an option for 1.5mm FO rod also. I find it easier to pick up. Hopefully I can drill the sight out. I'll be calling.

    Tack Driver

The sight went on my S&W Performance Center 45 w/o/ a hitch. Now that I can clearly see the front sight, it is a tack driver !

    fiber optic sight

had it installed by my gunsmith, but in a .38super to 9mm conversion on my Performance Center 1911, dead center POA on first shot and sight acquisition was incredible.

    A MUST for action shooting

Posted by Trung on May 23rd 2017

The stock SW1911 front sight is a whopping 0.150", which almost completely fills the rear notch, and it's solid black to boot. I suppose that that might be suitable for some applications, but for action shooting, it makes it very hard to find the front sight most times. I chose the Dawson 0.100" with fiber optic, and it's completely changed how I "look" at the gun :) The quality is top-notch Dawson. Just be patient fitting it and only take a small amount of material off at a time.

    Fantastic Sight

Posted by Kevin on Mar 17th 2017

Requires fitting so be sure you have everything you need and be patient. I wasn't and buggered mine up a bit but that was my fault. The sight is awesome, and I love the tight tolerance of the fiber optic being so close to the top of the sight that you don't have a large deviation between top of sight and where Fiber Optic begins. Very bright, really stands out and your eye keys on it quickly. Ordered a much narrower sight then the factory blade, it allows more precision with quicker sight acquisition. Definitely a must for any serious shooter. The sight installed was for my Smith&Wesson 1911 Performance Center 5" barreled Pistol.
