Description

Is there really a difference with Dawson Precision® sights? You bet there is!

While other sights give off a hazy glow making it difficult to focus, Dawson Precision® sights offer you the sharpest picture. We counterbore the blade so the optic is recessed. This subtle difference focuses the light in the sight making it not only brighter, but clearer. A fully cradled optic provides a longer optic lifespan.

    Better than stock front sight.

Posted by Jerry M. on Apr 16th 2016

IMHO Dawson makes the best fiber optic sights. I have several front sights and they are all great. I installed these on my MOD. 2 45(3.3), ( .160x.125) works with stock rear sight, POA & POI same as factory setup. I'm not a gunsmith but follow instructions on installation, you do have to file some metal on sight, i have a sight pusher so drifting sight on was easy, don't forget a little loctite. The red fiber optic is brighter than the original one that comes with the gun plus smaller diameter fiber tube makes it look like a lazer beam or a 3 MOA red dot when aiming.

DP, best sights on the market

Green fiber makes for quick acquisition, any height you may need to get your zero. When the game is shoot fast, shoot accurately…you need Dawson sights. Two Alpha, here I come!

    Definitely helped my scores

Posted by David on Jan 11th 2016

My XDM 5.25 came with what I thought to be a good front fiber, but I stumbled on some info on an XDM forum that having more "air" between the front sight and rear sight edges made for faster acquisition and was easier on older eyes like mine. Everyone recommended the .100" wide, which is significantly less than the factory .145". It made an instant impact on my competition results. I'm not going to say a night and day kind of thing, but enough to jump my scores above where they'd been stuck. When people spend all kinds of money on upgrades of dubious value, this was something that didn't cost much and definitely worked. I now have them on all my XDMs. Get a proper sight pusher or pay someone to replace, as XD/XDM sights are notoriously tight.

    Awesome

I have these front sights on three competition XDm's and they are great. Be prepared to have trouble removing the factory sights as Springfield installs them very tight. I use sight pushing jig from Brownells and it is still tough.
