Description

Is there really a difference with Dawson Precision® sights? You bet there is!

While other sights give off a hazy glow making it difficult to focus, Dawson Precision® sights offer you the sharpest picture. We counterbore the blade so the optic is recessed. This subtle difference focuses the light in the sight making it not only brighter, but clearer. A fully cradled optic provides a longer optic lifespan.

    Perfect

Take the time to shoot your pistol and see where it's hitting. Have another good shooter verify the group. Measure what you have with calipers and work with the tech support to adjust accordingly. You'll end up with the perfect sight set. I'm very happy with the end result.

    Improve Your Accuracy

    Posted by Shooter5 on Jul 12th 2017

This is my 3rd front sight I have changed on my competition 1911s. The first 2 I had installed by a gunsmith. This one I watched the you tube video 4 times and decided to go for it. In less than a half hour it was complete. That afternoon I put 4 rounds in a 1 inch box at 30 feet. I could have been done sooner but I checked and rechecked. The video tells you to use a piece of paper where you might have to do a light filing on the slide. TIP, DO IT! My fault. I bought the flat black pen to clean up.

    Great Sights

Posted by Greg on Jul 5th 2017

I went with these to get a more target style sight system on my Springfield TRP non rail. .325" rear height and a .125" notch. The front sight is .140" tall and .115" wide. I can see the windows, but not perfect all the time. I'm scoring 29/30 from 25 yards consistently, but I might go with the .135" notch. Great sight system though. I recommend investing in a set of calipers so you know what you have currently and help you adjust to perfect. TRPs came with a couple of different sight heights. My factory sights were .375" rear height and .180" front sight height. (I know now) The .375" rear is hard to find, that causes you to have to play with the heights. .350" rear and .160" front would have been closer to factory. I bought the .325" based on info in some forums. I did not have calipers to measure and .325" was a known height. I also went with .180" front forge same reason. I was about 5" low at 25 yards. The customer service guys were great, but they have to know what you are looking at to help you better. They got me where I needed to be with a .140" saving me some money I wanted to change both the front and the rear. I just have to decide how close I can get these to what I'm getting so easily out of my Glock 17 Dawson sights(Glock sights are a more known quantity). They were very, very easy because the Glock is more consistent with their sights. No regrets I just want it perfect especially since I hated the factory sights. Once they are on and you are banging that 10 ring you will be glad you did!

    Springfield RO front sight replacement

Posted by Dave on Jul 3rd 2017

After removing sight pin, original front sight impossible to remove with supplied aluminum punch. Made some progress with brass punch, but required starting with steel punch. Was not aware of Dave's how to video. After some time with fitting new sight, went in with less effort than to remove original. .090 wide sight gives much improved sight picture, more light at sides between front post and rear notch.

    Less Width for Old Eyes

Posted by Jerry on Jun 6th 2017

Going from a .125" to a .100" width front on my 9MM 5" R.O. with the standard adj. rear sight helped me acquire the sight picture in less time and still provides precision. The usual great Dawson quality as I have seen on my previous Dawson products.

    Awesome Sight

Posted by Alex Sotelo on Jun 5th 2017

I ordered the .180 x .090 sight for my Springfield Load Target (9mm). Sight slipped on with very minimal fitting. Looks great. Much easier to acquire than the stock black sight.

Fiber optic sight fit my Springfield Loaded Target very well. It took only a little filing to get it to fit the slide. Shipping was very quick.
